Halifax Hall of Residence offers comfortable en suite accommodation at a budget price but in single rooms. You can book accommodation in Halifax Hall on the conference booking form, accessible via the SGT web site (www.sgt.org).
If you would prefer to stay elsewhere then the Rutland Hotel and the Westbourne House Hotel are both within walking distance of Halifax Hall (0.9km and 0.7km respectively). There are many other hotels and guest houses in Sheffield and details can be found at www.shef.ac.uk/city/hotels.html. In particular we can recommend the Novotel, which is a city centre hotel on a convenient bus route to Halifax Hall, and the Marriott Hotel (in parkland and used for a recent G8 meeting), which is a 2 mile taxi journey to Halifax Hall.
